    William “Bill” Byron Cartmill, 88, of Benton passed away on February 3, 2015. Bill was born January 15, 1927 in Barnabus, West Virginia to John and Hannah (Wilson) Cartmill. He was a chemical engineer and did research for the Monsanto Corporation, a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, a Deacon in the Baptist Church and attended the 1st Southern Baptist Church in Bryant. His interests included gardening and photography. Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II.

    His survivors include his two daughters: Susan Hapner of Benton, and Nancy Crawford of Robinsonville, MS; four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 53 years Gerry Cartmill, his brother James Cartmill, his two sisters: Thelma Kincheloe and Dorothy Hickinbotham.

    Funeral services for Mr. Cartmill will be at 2:00p.m. Friday, February 6th at CedarVale Funeral Home, with Burial at CedarVale Cemetery. There will be a Visitation from 1:00-2:00p.m.
